Bio:

Jim “Jolly” Rogers discovered endurance sports later in life than most, as a road cyclist at the U.S. Naval Academy where he competed as a Collegiate “A” and USCF Category 3 racer for 3 years from 1986 to 1989. Jolly raced his first duathlon in 1990 while in flight school in Pensacola, Fl and his first triathlon in 1991 in San Diego Ca. He completed his first Iron-distance triathlon in 2007 at the inaugural Ironman Louisville.

An early adopter of the power meter, Jolly is one of the area’s most knowledgeable coaches when it comes to training and racing with power. He is a Level 2 USA Cycling certified coach and SE Virginia’s only coach certified in power based training, and currently racing as a USAC Cycling Cat 4 athlete. Jolly’s passion is working with cyclists and triathletes whose priority is improving their cycling.

Philosophy:

w/t

What is it?

work/time = power

Your time is valuable and your training time is often scarce. As an active duty service member and part time athlete, I understand this. My mission as a coach is to help you reach your goals using scientific, proven training techniques while allowing for everyday life’s impact on training. I insist that my athletes use power meters because of both the feedback they provide to me as a coach and the fact that they enable my athletes to hold me accountable to show improvement in their performance.
